Get 'er done!

Hello. How are you?
I am productive!
Well... I was yesterday. I was a good friend and productive.
I may not give you a hug if you're having a bad day but I have a truck and I can haul a bunch of shit, which I believe is infinitely more useful.
Steve and I hauled a bunch of shit out of his yard yesterday. 1900 pounds to be exact (if those swine at the transfer station weren't ripping us off.)
We took turns being optimistic and not so optimistic but after three loads, we had successfully discarded one tree, most of a fence, and some bamboo.

Fuck yeah!

I was so inspired, I went home and cleaned up my little yard - trimmed back blackberry bushes and ivy and pulled up dandelions. Made a run to Goodwill, reorganized my one closet, and turned my mattress. Not done, but made progress. Still have the dreaded papers and books mess to tackle.

Then I went to a late movie! This may not sound like much for a normal person, but for me, it's like building the Hoover dam single-handedly! I'm usually trying to find out how little one can get done it a day.

Fuck Yeah!

Who would think that two people both dedicated to making time pass so unproductively could both be so productive in one day?

Hauling a ton (literally) of crap, lunch at the taco truck (in lieu of now defunct destination for nachos), 30+ mile bike ride, some laundry and a frickin movie to top it off, what a day!!!!

Of course now I'm so emotionally spent I need a hug...

Thanks Dana!

Dana's inspiration didn't end there. Dana has this idea for each of her friends to come up with 5 movies that they liked that most people may have missed the first time around. After getting home from Oceans 13 I was inspired/neuroticaly compelled to remember 5 movies that fit that bill. I have a terrible time remembering names of movies but can usually remember the time frame and either the director or actor so all that is required is a little searching on the interweb. These were just the first five to come to mind and some may not quite cut it.

1. Twilight - Nice little film with Paul Newman, Gene Hackman, Susan Sarandon, Christina Ricci, James Garner and others. Not sure how this flew under the radar but I loved this film.

2. Sexy Beast - British, think Guy Ritchie villain caper film. Ben Kingsley brilliantly scary in a supporting role.

3. Inside Man - Denzel in a really good understated performance. Clive Owen is good as is the plot and dialogue. Supporting cast, except Jodie Foster (what happened there?) are good.

4. Hope and Glory - British film about a kid growing up during the Blitz in England during WW2.

5. The Limey - Great flick, Terrence Stamp gives a great performance.

Because I can't follow the rules and I end up remembering more movies as a I go along...

6. City of Hope - Another good John Sayles film.

7. In the Company of Men - Aaron Eckhart show just how big a prick men can be at times.

8. Career Girls - Another British film about two former college friends getting back together several years later. Probably not Dana's cup of tea but nice film.

9. Courage Under Fire - This was pretty popular when it came out but still a good one if you haven't seen it. Denzel again in another non-standard role for him. Meg Ryan in the only film I have liked her in.

10. Devil in a Blue Dress - Another popular one with Denzel but since Dana hasn't seen it worth adding if your a Denzel fan.

11. Limbo - Maybe my favorite John Sayles film (tough to call with Lonestar), enigmatic ending but isn't that always the case with Sayles.
